Encar.com analyzed big data on used cars for 2023 and revealed popular used cars for this year. View ranking and purchase ranking data were analyzed, and the analysis was based on data from more than 1.2 million used cars traded through the Encar website and mobile app.
As a result of big data-based analysis, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213 ranked first in both comprehensive search views and purchases this year, becoming the most popular used car model in 2023.
Most of the models actually purchased were domestically produced and imported mid- to large-sized sedans, as well as practical large RVs, vans, and compact cars. In particular, the Grandeur was confirmed to be the most widely sold domestic model this year, ranking at the top in terms of purchase volume by generation, from HG to IG and the latest model.
The 2nd to 5th places in the comprehensive ranking of views were all sedans, including the 5 Series (G30), Grandeur IG, G80 (RG3), and S-Class W222, followed by the GV80, 4th generation Carnival, G80, and more from 6th to 10th. It was the New Grandeur IG and the 4th generation Sorento.
The 2nd to 5th places in the overall purchase number ranking were Grandeur HG, Grandeur IG, Grand Starex, and 5 Series (G30). Next, the 6th to 10th places were confirmed to be The New Carnival, Palisade, All New Carnival, The New Grandeur IG, and All New Morning.
When analyzed separately into domestic and imported car categories, Grandeur HG ranked first in the number of domestic cars purchased. The second to fifth places were followed by Grandeur IG, Grand Starex, The New Carnival, and Palisade, followed by models such as The New Grandeur IG, All New Morning, and Santa Fe TM in the top 10.
The top 10 most viewed imported cars are all occupied by sedan models from Mercedes-Benz and BMW, including the E-Class W213, C-Class W205, 3 Series (F30), 5 Series (G30), and 7 Series (G11). In terms of purchase ranking, the most popular sedans were the E-Class W213, 5 Series (G30), S-Class W222, 5 Series (F10), and C-Class W205 from 1st to 5th, and the Audi New A6 ranked 10th. Including the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class X253, the only SUV model, ranked among the top selling models.
An official from Encar.com said, “Domestic sedans are popular in the used car market, but it is worth noting that the model most chosen by consumers this year is the Mercedes E-Class, an imported sedan.
